In the final installment of our Black-owned businesses series for Black History Month, we chose a business that is a key part of our morning routine — Mumgry Nut Butter! Get to know how Mumgry keeps our toast tasty, our tummies happy, and our bodies running smoothly.
Honestly, pistachio-chocolate-vegan nut butter really needs no introduction, but we’ll give it a go regardless. Mumgry was born out of a desire for pregnancy-friendly food by Vancouver native Lilian Umurungi-Jung. It’s a natural nut butter that’s good for everyone, especially mums, and really lets you trust in your snacking again — something we at tentree are quite passionate about. Environment first, snacking second.
Umurungi-Jung and the team at Mumgry have made community-building and healthy food accessibility a top priority, and you know we’re suckers for a value-driven brand. They recently launched #MUMGRYMONDAY, an initiative that gives back to parents, grocers, and frontline health care workers. A brand that not only makes delicious snacks, but also gives back to women, children, and people in need? WE’RE LISTENING. Mumgry will forever hold a spot in our hearts and our stomachs, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
Check out Mumgry for all your nut butter needs and remember, snacking is self-care — don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, okay?
