We’ve partnered with local retail leader ‘MAKE Vancouver’ on Granville Island to create Canada’s most sustainable pop-up shop. What makes our new space so eco-friendly? Here’s a breakdown.
Our custom-built “cabin” change room and handmade furniture are all made from wood salvaged from local Vancouver homes. Plus, they’re super comfy to hang out in.
Our moss wall, designed to look like a forest, was locally created and produced with a “Biophilic” approach. “Biophilia” means the innate human instinct to connect with nature and other living beings. Biophilic design uses elements of nature to bring the outdoors, in. Plus, these nature-inspired designs have been found to support cognitive function, physical health, and psychological well-being. Oh, and did we mention that it’s also great for selfies?
See our rubber flooring? The tiles we used are actually made from recycled tires.
Any of the signs, images, or decals you see around the space have been locally printed on sustainable and recyclable materials.
We were able to upcycle our hangers — they were found and repurposed locally from Habitat for Humanity.
Our mannequins also contribute to a circular economy. They’re made from both a renewable resource and recycled material from existing products. Bonus: they’re 100% biodegradable.
We’ll gladly go the extra mile to make sure no trees were harmed in the making of our pop-up, our wooden signs included. That’s why we partnered with ChopValue. They made our signage out of used chopsticks harvested locally in Vancouver.
Plant a tree on us! Just take a pic of the QR code on your smartphone, and we’ll make sure that 1 tree is planted on your behalf.
Pop into tentree @ MAKE to plant trees, reduce your carbon footprint, try on some comfy clothes or just lounge in our eco-space. With the apparel industry acting as the world’s second largest polluter, we want to make shopping a little greener.
